Two executives have been named to senior management posts at Starz, a U.S. premium movie service provider and production company.

Carmi Zlotnik has been appointed to managing director of Starz Media, where he will manage production of the company's original series, including "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" and "Camelot." Zlotnik recently served as head of global operations for IMG Global Media. He's also a 20-year veteran of HBO.

John Penney joins Starz as executive vice president of strategy and business development, where he will evaluate and build key business strategies and partnerships, as well as identify and develop new business opportunities across various Starz companies. Penney recently served as head of strategy at IMG Global Media and has also worked at Foresee Entertainment, HBO, AT&T, Viacom and ACTV.

Both Zlotnik and Penney will be based in Beverly Hills, Calif., and will report to Chris Albrecht, president and chief executive officer of Starz.
