Sanrio has announced three new executive appointments on its senior marketing team.

Jill Koch has been promoted to senior vice president of brand management and marketing, Dave Marchi has been promoted to senior brand marketing director, and Shauntel Jarreau has been named retail marketing director.

The announcement comes on the heels of Janet Hsu’s appointment as the first female chief operating officer for the 50-plus-year-old brand.

“We aim to strategically manage the identity, integrity and innovation of our brand while leveraging Sanrio’s growth and expansion in multiple channels,” says Hsu. “Jill and Dave share a profound understanding of Sanrio’s unique DNA and extensive experience in brand building, coupled with love and passion for the brand that will continue to evolve Sanrio and deliver unique consumer experiences.”

In her new role as senior vice president of brand management and marketing, Koch will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and identity of the Sanrio brand. She will also continue to oversee the expansion of Sanrio’s co-brand initiatives and collaborations, as well as working closely with the creative team on product development and brand extensions. Koch has been Sanrio since 2002. Most recently she served as vice president of brand management and marketing.

As senior brand marketing director, Marchi will manage retail and co-brand marketing activities. Marchi started with Sanrio at 2001 and most recently held the position of senior brand marketing manager.

New addition, Jarreau will take on the role of retail marketing director. In this newly created position, she will manage brand marketing activities for all retailers, develop co-brand programs for retailers and communicate Sanrio’s retail marketing initiatives to licensees. Prior to joining Sanrio, Jarreau worked in licensed products for Hot Topic.
