Former Warner Bros., Sony Pictures and FremantleMedia executive Sander Schwartz has signed on to serve as president of the kids' social media network Grom Social.

Designed for children ages 6 to 16, Grom Social currently has more than 1.5 million registered members.

After serving as president of Warner Bros. Animation, president of production at Sony Pictures Television International and president of FremantleMedia’s Kids & Family Entertainment division, Schwartz established his own consultancy where he provides services for a variety of clients engaged in children’s television, film and other media.

As president of Grom Social, Schwartz will expand the website into all areas of children’s media and licensing, working with chairman and chief executive officer Darren Marks, father of the site's founder Zach Marks, who was 11-years-old when he launched his idea.

“We are excited and very fortunate to bring Sander’s extraordinary expertise, experience and skills to Grom Social," says Darren Marks. "Sander is among an elite group of senior-level children’s media executives who have helped shape the kids' media industry, and elevate content development and production to meet the educational and entertainment appetites of children worldwide. We look forward to working with Sander to further position Grom Social as a dynamic force in children’s media and entertainment.”
