Nickelodeon has promoted Dion Vlachos to the role of executive vice president of retail sales, marketing and publishing.

Vlachos will lead the entertainment company’s retail, marketing and publishing business.

Nickelodeon has promoted Dion Vlachos to the role of executive vice president of retail sales, marketing and publishing.

He will now be responsible for managing the development of the Nickelodeon retail business as well as leading the sales efforts for key intellectual properties including “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Paw Patrol,” “Shimmer and Shine,” “SpongeBob SquarePants” and more. He will continue to report Pam Kaufman, president, consumer products, and chief marketing officer, Nickelodeon, who made the announcement.

Recently, the oversight of the Nickelodeon U.S. licensed publishing business was also added to Vlachos’ responsibilities.

Vlachos joined the entertainment network in 2013 as senior vice president of retail sales and marketing. In his former position, he was responsible for overseeing all mass, specialty, e-commerce and emerging retail accounts.

During his tenure, Vlachos has been key in growing the network’s retail business, which has posted double-digit growth for three consecutive years, according to the company. Vlachos also spearheaded the launches of “Paw Patrol,” “Blaze and the Monster Machines” and “Shimmer and Shine” in preschool product aisles, as well as franchise and movie merchandise programs for “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and “SpongeBob SquarePants,” according to Nickelodeon.

Prior to joining Nickelodeon, Vlachos served as vice president, franchise development and global marketing, Disney Publishing Worldwide.

Vlachos has also held positions with Disney Feature Animation, Disney Television Animation, Buena Vista Marketing Group and Buena Vista Home Entertainment International.
