Corus Entertainment has named Athena Georgaklis as its head of development for Nelvana.

In her new position, Georgaklis will lead the acquisition rights and the development of all original content for the studio. She will also help drive its Enterprise division through distribution and licensing activity, as well as provide content for Corus’ suit of kids’ channels.

Previously, Georgaklis oversaw all original productions for Corus’ Teletoon network, supervising the development and production of Canadian content in both English and French.
