NBCU Exec Joins Walmart Board of Directors

Walmart’s board of directors has selected Cesar Conde, the current chairman of NBCUniversal International Group and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprise, to serve as a new independent director to the company’s board, effective immediately.

NBCU Exec Joins Walmart Board of Directors

Conde will serve as the twelfth member of the board and will sit on Walmart’s Audit Committee and its Technology and eCommerce Committee.

Conde currently serves on the executive committee of NBCUniversal. As chairman of NBCUniversal International Group, he has been tasked with overseeing the operations and international expansion of NBCUniversal businesses outside of North America. As chairman of Telemundo Enterprises, Conde manages programming aimed at Hispanics across broadcast, cable and digital platforms.

Conde joined NBCUniversal in October 2013 as executive vice president of NBCUniversal to lead NBCU International and NBCU Digital Enterprises. He took on his current position in 2015. Before NBCUniversal, Conde worked as president of Univision Networks and served in a variety of senior executive capacities over 10 years.

Before that, Conde worked as the White House Fellow for Secretary of State Colin L. Powell from 2002 to 2003. He has also held a position at StarMedia Network.

Conde also

holds a place on the board of directors of PepsiCo., serves as a trustee of the Aspen Institute and the Paley Center for Media, is a full member at the Council on Foreign Relations and serves as a young global leader for the World Economic Forum.
