National Geographic Partners has appointed several key executives in North and Latin America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, bolstering its global operations.

National Geographic Partners has appointed several key executives in North and Latin America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, bolstering its global operations.

First, Lorenzo Orozco has been named general manager and senior vice president for National Geographic Partners Latin America. He will be responsible for building revenue for the company’s businesses in Latin America including channels, publishing, digital and travel. Prior to joining National Geographic Partners, Orozco served as general manager for Fox International Channels Mexico.

Con Apostolopoulos has been appointed to the role of general manager and vice president for National Geographic Partners, Asia Pacific and Middle East. He will manage the company’s businesses in the region including channels, publishing, digital, kids, travel and licensing. Prior to joining National Geographic, he served as vice president of partnerships for Fox Networks Group Asia Pacific.

Next, Deborah Armstrong, currently the executive vice president of Fox Networks Group, will add oversight of the National Geographic Partners business in Europe and Africa to her portfolio of responsibilities.

Whit Higgins has been promoted to senior vice president of strategic planning and business development for the company. Higgins will now lead a team to support all areas of the company in optimizing the existing business and identifying and developing new business opportunities.

Finally, Carlyn Staudt moved into a new role as senior vice president of content partnerships. She will be responsible for managing the company’s relationship with Fox Home Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox Film and Television Distribution. She will also manage Cinema Ventures, the company’s large-format film business, as well as digital content syndication opportunities.

“As we reviewed our current footprint, we felt it was important to build a strong foundation in our regional markets, so that we could approach the marketplace in a more integrated, consolidated way,” says Ward Platt, chief operating officer, National Geographic Partners. “These appointments will provide us talent on the ground to help us accomplish that goal.”
