Online, interactive gaming platform will now be led by Ian Chambers.

Mind Candy has appointed Ian Chambers as its new chief executive officer, effective immediately.

The appointment follows Mindy Candy founder Michael Acton-Smith decision to step down as chief executive officer in 2014 to take on a more creative role within the organization.

Prior to joining Mind Candy, Chambers served as the international managing director at IGN. He has also held key positions with Ubisoft, EA and Game Digital.

“We are thrilled to have Ian on board. His experience in entertainment and digitial marketing will be very valuable for Mind Candy to develop existing brands and launch new ones,” says Acton-Smith. “The team and I are really looking forward to working with him.”

According to GamesIndustry.biz, Mind Candy is also planning to enter the console market with a PlayStation game based on its property “World of Warriors.” However, details of the new game have not been released.
