Dunne comes to Mattel from Disney where she served as executive vice president, licensing, Disney Classic Characters and Disney Baby.
In her new role, Dunne will oversee licensing of Mattel’s stable of powerhouse brands including Barbie, Hot Wheels, Monster High, Fisher-Price and American Girl.
"I am thrilled to be joining the Mattel family," says Dunne. "I look forward to not only deepening moms' and kids' relationships with such household names as Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price and American Girl, but also cultivating and growing Mattel's up-and-coming brands and properties. This is certainly an exciting and dynamic time to be joining Mattel."
In her 10 years at Disney, Dunne held several leadership positions including executive vice president, global licensing for Disney Consumer Products; executive vice president, Disney Moms and Babies; and executive vice president, GlobalToys and Electronics. During that time she was credited with nearly doubling the company’s toy business by emphasizing product quality and innovation, and integrating the skills of the consumer electronics team into the toy side of the business.
Prior to joining Disney, Dunne served as senior vice president, network marketing and off-channel commerce at Cartoon Network. Dunne also served on the Toy Industry Association's board of directors from 2007 to 2009.
At Mattel Dunne will report to Tim Kilpin, executive vice president, global brands team, boys and girls; and David Allmark, executive vice president, global brands team, Fisher-Price. She will also support Jean McKenzie, executive vice president, American Girl.
"Jessi's tremendous experience with building strategic initiatives around classic properties and growing successful franchises will complement our efforts as we continue to innovate and develop both our iconic brands and newer properties," says Kilpin.
