Hearst Magazines has selected Kate Lewis to serve as its new chief content officer, effective immediately.

In her new role, Lewis will oversee content strategy for Hearst Magazines brands in both print and digital, provide oversight to all editors in chief and digital directors in the U.S., liaise with the company’s international network, work closely with the company’s technology and product units, its consumer marketing group and its branded content team, Hearst Made.

Swartz, chief executive officer, president, Hearst. “With her strong background in both worlds, Kate is ideally suited to help our editors and producers take their products to the next level of excellence by finding new ways to collaborate.”

Lewis joined the organization in 2014 as editorial director and vice president of content operations. In 2016, she became senior vice president. Before joining Hearst, Lewis served as vice president and editorial director at Say Media and held senior roles at Condé Nast Publications.
