Federico San Martin has been hired as vice president of global consumer products for The Jim Henson Company.

In his new role, San Martin will supervise licensing activities for the company’s children’s brands including “Dinosaur Train,” “Sid the Science Kid” and “Doozers,” as well as spearhead programs for new properties and manage licensing for the Company’s HIP (Henson Independent Properties) brands.

San Martin joins The Jim Henson Company from DreamWorks Studios, where he served as head of global toys. During his tenure at DreamWorks, he developed the retail programs for properties like How to Train Your Dragon and created strategies for the DreamWorks and Classic Media portfolios. Prior to his role at DreamWorks, San Martin was at Warner Bros. Consumer Products where he managed more than 60 licensees and executed cross-promotional initiatives, gaining extensive experience in the Latin American licensing market.

"With over 15 years of experience in entertainment, licensing, and toys, Fed possesses a vast knowledge of retail programs in both the domestic and international markets,” says Peter Schube, president and chief operating officer, to whom San Martin will report. “His experience managing master toy deals and partnerships across a variety of consumer products categories for properties that launch on both traditional and emerging platforms will foster growth of our Company’s entire global consumer products division.”
