Universal Brand Development has tapped Joseph Kim to serve as senior vice president of publishing, worldwide games and digital platforms, effective immediately.

 

In his new role, Kim will oversee the strategy and operations of Universal’s game publishing arm including management, marketing, user acquisition and revenue optimization across all games and apps.

 

Prior to joining Universal, Kim served as the chief product officer at SEGA Games, where he is credited with relaunching the company’s mobile games business. Other roles include general manager for SEGA’s Demiurge studio and studio lead in FunPlus’ strategy game division.

 

“Joseph has an impressive track record and is an accomplished leader with a deep understanding of games,” says Chris Heatherly, executive vice president, worldwide games and digital platforms, Universal Brand Group. “His expertise in both product and publishing will help us sharpen our focus on becoming a leading publisher in the industry.”
