Janice Marinelli, president, global content sales and distribution, Disney, is ending her 34-year run at the company.
According to Deadline, Marinelli decided to leave the company once Disney’s integration with 21st Century Fox was completed. Disney acquired the company earlier this year for $71.3 billion.
Marinelli, who was a noted sales executive at Disney, was promoted to her current role just last year. She was reportedly also a key player in prepping Disney for the upcoming launch of its new streaming service Disney+.
“Janice has contributed immeasurably to Disney over the past three decades, architecting and successfully negotiating thousands of innovative deals that have benefited our company and will continue to do so for years to come,” says Kevin Mayer, chairman of direct-to-consumer and international segment, Disney. “I am so grateful for her insightful counsel and steadfast collaboration over the past year as we laid the foundation for DTCI and the upcoming launch of Disney+. I especially appreciate her willingness to stay on and see us through this time of tremendous change.”
