Discovery Communications has named Doris Miller as vice president of retail sales and business development for Discovery Consumer Products. 

In her new role, Miller will work to extend the reach of the company’s brands at retail including Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TLC and Discovery Kids. She will also play a key role in overall strategic planning for the global business and national retail account management for North America.

“Doris brings more than 20 years’ experience in sales, merchandising, licensing and product strategy, along with a results-first attitude and proven excellence in implementing a comprehensive retail strategy across entertainment brands,” says Nicolas Bonard, general manager and senior vice president, Discovery Studios Group and France. “Her experience and passion for the industry makes her a perfect fit for our senior leadership team, and we look forward to broadening Discovery Consumer Products’ retail footprint across our brands.”

Prior to joining Discovery Consumer Products, Miller was vice president of sales at the Walt Disney Company where she oversaw the launch of numerous retail programs across all channels of distribution. Miller also served as vice president at Speedo U.S.A., expanding the brand into new consumer segments and leading innovative product merchandising, marketing and sales strategies.
