Brand activation agency and manufacturer Creata (makers of Happy Meals toys for McDonald’s and manufacturer of Skylanders toys for Activision) has hired Kathryn Klingler as director of licensing and marketing.

Klingler will lead the charge to further develop Creata’s worldwide licensing activity for its new properties, including Monster 500, a line of boys’ toys recently launched at Toys ‘R’ Us.

Klingler joins Creata with more than 17 years of consumer products and licensing experience, most recently at G.A. Gertmenian, where she oversaw their licensing business and managed their game rug line of products and toy sourcing needs.  Klingler started her career at Mattel where she was responsible for licensing entertainment, automobile and fashion brands for Hot Wheels and Barbie. She has also held brand licensing and marketing positions at Primedia (American Baby and Seventeen magazine) and Tokyopop (Rave Master and Initial D).

"Kathryn is a strong addition to our team, and we are thrilled to have her here,” says Jeff Jarka, executive vice president, chief creative and strategy officer, Creata. “As we expand our business into proprietary toy development, her background will be invaluable in helping us build these new brands at retail.”
