BBC Worldwide has appointed Clare Piggott as head of merchandising for its U.K. business.

BBC Worldwide has appointed Clare Piggott as head of merchandising for its U.K. business.

In her new role, Piggott will manage the licensing strategy and develop relationships with key licensees in the U.K. 

Piggott joins BBC Worldwide from The Promotions Factory where she was general manager of retail promotions. She has also held various roles within Nickelodeon and Mattel where she was responsible for the development and execution of the U.K. retail and brand strategies for properties such as Dora the Explorer, South Park, SpongeBob SquarePants, Barbie and Hot Wheels.

“With Clare’s background and experience in licensing and merchandising, she will be a major asset to our business,” says Brian Hill, sales director, BBC Worldwide U.K., to whom Piggott will report. “Her arrival comes at a crucial time when BBC Worldwide is focused upon developing and driving its future strategy.”
