Activision hires CAA veteran to lead marketing team.

Activision Blizzard has appointed David Messinger as chief marketing officer of the company.

In his role, Messinger will lead the global marketing function across Activision Blizzard ,where he’ll create a marketing strategy for the company that amplifies Activision Blizzard’s standing in the video game market. The role will see him work out of Santa Monica, Calif.

“I’m excited to welcome David as we expand in our mission to deliver epic interactive entertainment to fans around the world,” says Coddy Johnson, president and chief operating officer, Activision Blizzard. “His tenure in global entertainment and his expertise in strategic, award-winning marketing campaigns will help our communities to grow and further inspire our players to connect, compete and play.”

Prior to joining Activision Blizzard, Messinger spent more than 15 years at sports and entertainment agency Creative Artists Agency. Most recently, Messinger served as the co-head of CAA Marketing and worked with clients such as The Coca-Cola Company, General Motors, Mattel, Diageo, Chipotle and Samsung.
