Zodiak Kids has appointed FranceTV Distribution to manage the licensing of its new animated series “Lolirock” in France and French-speaking territories.

Aimed at 5- to 10-year-old girls, the series is being co-produced by Marathon Media (a Zodiak Kids company), France Télévisions and Disney Channel and will launch at the end of the year on France 3.

The first partners for the LoliRock property were announced last October at Brand Licensing Europe and include Hachette Jeunesse (publishing) and FranceTV Distribution (home video).

Music will feature heavily in the series and provide a key element to Zodiak Kids’ 360-degree digital strategy. As part of a unique marketing plan, five animated “LoliRock” videos will be launched on social media and YouTube before the debut of the TV show. Zodiak is also planning a blog, a free app with songs, dance routines and karaoke and is considering a live show.

“We are delighted to work with such a key partner as FranceTV Distribution. We are confident that with their expertise and enthusiasm, LoliRock will quickly become the new essential girl’s property,” says Patricia de Wilde, head, Zodiak Kids CP Paris.
