Six Flags Great America, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, has unveiled a new 4D interactive ride–Justice League: Battle for Metropolis.

In the new ride, guests will become members of the Justice League Reserve Team and will battle alongside Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern, among other heroes, in six-passenger vehicles to save the city of Metropolis.

The new ride features a 22,000-square-foot Hall of Justice to house the full-sensory ride; a 4D experience with wind, fire, mist and fog effects, as well as animatronic characters; 10 fight scenes as the Reserve Team travel through laughing gas and flames; one of the first virtual vertical loops; a virtual 180 degree barrel roll; 3D animation to fully immerse riders in Metropolis; and multiple gaming elements.

“This is the most innovative and multi-faceted attraction that this park has ever build,” says Hank Salemi, president, Six Flags Great America. “The advanced technology of Justice League: Battle for Metropolis surrounds the riders throughout the course in non-stop action from start to finish.”

Additionally, Warner Bros. Consumer Products also tapped Six Flags Over Georgia for the world’s first DC Super Friends themed area.

The new DC Super Friends zone will feature five new rides and gaming attractions including the Superman Tower of Power, The Batcopters, Wonder Woman Flight School, Harley Quinn Games and The Joker Funhouse Coaster.

“We are excited to unveil this thrilling new section just in time for the start of the summer vacation season,” says Dale Kaetzel, president, Six Flags Atlanta Properties. “This area, combined with the addition of Bugs Bunny Boomtown earlier this year, solidifies Six Flags Over Georgia as the perfect destination for family fun.”

The new attractions at Six Flags Great America and Six Flags Over Georgia are open now.
