The retailer will feature a host of SpongeBob movie products including toys, t-shirts, health products such as Band-Aids and even branded produce like pineapples.
From now through Feb. 28, Nickelodeon is also working with Walmart on an omni-channel marketing program for the film.
Nickelodeon will convert traffic across the store and drive product purchases with an interactive mobile experience, buoyed by marketing support across social media and digital channels.
Shoppers can use the "Blippar" app to scan key SpongeBob products and in-store signs to unlock an exclusive SpongeBob fan experience at Walmart stores. By filling their screens with images of SpongeBob movie products, fans can then access exclusive content and offers such as the movie trailer, pre-order the DVD set to get a free SpongeBob movie ticket and play SpongeBob-themed games.
As part of the mobile activation, shoppers can also scan products to generate special SpongeBob e-cards and to access a video game trailer and SpongeBob selfie photo booth app.
