Verizon has teamed with DreamWorks and its multi-channel YouTube network AwesomenessTV to launch several new channels on its Internet-based content service.

The new AwesomenessTV channel will target teens and young Millennials with more than 200 hours of original scripted and unscripted content per year.

A separate DreamWorksTV will be more family-oriented, with both live-action and animated short-form content featuring some of the studio's most recognizable characters.

"This is an incredible opportunity to expand the audience for both AwesomenessTV and DreamWorksTV," says Brian Robbins, chief executive officer and co-founder, AwesomenessTV. "Mobile is where our audience lives, which is why we are looking forward to working with Verizon to introduce our programming and talent to their massive customer base."

Both channels will launch in the U.S. later this year.

"It's increasingly clear that 'mobile first' is the way Milennials are consuming all types of content, especially HD video and music,"

says Terry Denson, vice president, content acquisition and strategy, Verizon. "At Verizon, we're committed to working with only the best and most innovative content providers, like AwesomenessTV, and driving opportunities as new content models emerge and customers experience the most in-demand and popular video in entirely new ways."
