Universal Studios Singapore has partnered with Sesame Workshop to create the first-ever Sesame Street theme park ride, set to open March 1.

The new indoor ride, called Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase, will take guests on an outer space adventure with Elmo and his friends.

In conjunction with the new ride, Universal Studios Singapore will also launch a Sesame Street Character Breakfast at Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor featuring a breakfast buffet and character meet-and-greet for an additional charge on weekends.

The celebrate the launch of the new ride, the park will host a Sesame Street carnival the weekend of the launch. New York Street will be transformed into an extension of Sesame Street with giant board games, special products and character appearances.

“The adventures never end with Sesame Street, and Universal Studios Singapore is extending the fun with Grover, Elmo and the rest of the Sesame friends,” says H. Melvin Ming, president and chief executive officer, Sesame Workshop. “We’re thrilled to offer this new experience for the entire family as we continue to explore different channels to extend our reach, educating and entertaining children all over the world.”

The new ride and character experiences are an extension of a collaboration that launched in May 2012 when the theme park began hosting Sesame Street live shows, as well as the Big Bird’s Emporium retail location.

“The launch of the Sesame Street shows at Universal Studios Singapore last year was a tremendous success. Elmo, Cookie Monster, Oscar and other loveable characters of Sesame Street have captivated the hearts and minds of our guests, testament to their popularity,” says Dennis Gilbert, senior vice president of attractions, Resorts World Sentosa, home to Universal Studios Singapore. “We look forward to continuing the Sesame Street experience with the launch of this new ride, packing in even more fun and excitement for the whole family visiting the park.”
