The escape game will launch in Los Angeles this month before heading to Japan in July.

Universal Brand Development and Scrap, a producer of Real Escape Game events, have joined forces to create the live-action escape room “The Mummy Escape Game.”

During the 60-minute experience, up to 10 players must work together to solve interactive puzzles in order to save mankind, as well as survive, from the revenge of Ahmanet, an ancient princess who has awakened in current day and has a thirst for justice that has spanned centuries.

“This is Scrap’s first partnership with a film studio, and we’re incredibly excited for the opportunity to introduce The Mummy into the live-action game genre,” says Satoshi Yamabe, Real Escape Game producer, Scrap.  “Working alongside Universal Brand Development, we are creating a one-of-a-kind ‘in-world’ fan experience that allows participants to step inside The Mummy and create their own memorable adventure.”

The Mummy Escape Game” will premiere in Los Angeles, May 20, at the Hollywood & Highland Center before expanding to Tokyo’s Gunkan East-Shinjuku Building, July 27. Tickets for the themed escape room are now available online at TheMummyEscapeGame.com.

“‘The Mummy Escape Game’ allows us to creatively extend the world of The Mummy into a fan-driven live experience,” says Vince Klaseus, president, Universal Brand Development. “We are fortunate that SCRAP–who is at the forefront of live-event trends and whose innovative games have become a cultural phenomenon–is helming this live-puzzle-game event. With The Mummy’s sweeping story and Scrap’s proven success in this genre, we are creating a shared experience for fans around the world.”
