FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment has appointed Maurizio Distefano as the licensing agent for its preschool property "Tree Fu Tom" in Italy.
The appointment coincides with the broadcast of the second season of the series on Cartoonito in Italy. Maurizio Distefano will launch its representation of the brand at the Bologna Licensing Fair March 30 to April 1.
“I’m thrilled to be able to represent 'Tree Fu Tom,' as the series has huge appeal for Italian audiences, which has also been recognized by Italian licensees," says Distefano. "We are planning a strong consumer products program to meet with the latest aspirations of contemporary Italian kids.”
Jazwares was recently appointed as the brand's master toy licensee, and BBC commissioned a third season of the series that will air on CBeebies in the U.K. in 2016.
“We are delighted to announce that Maurizio Distefano is on board to spread some 'Tree Fu' magic and increase our consumer products reach in Italy," says Tracy Griffiths, vice president, licensing and consumer products, EMEA and Australia, FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment. "'Tree Fu Tom' continues to connect with children around the globe, generating high ratings and strong consumer engagement wherever the show airs.”
