Toei Animation will unveil its new reboot of the Sailor Moon franchise, "Sailor Moon Crystal" this week at Brand Licensing Europe.

The re-imagining of the classic franchise first introduced in 1992 is a modern take on the original manga by creator Naoko Takeuchi. "Sailor Moon: Crystal" goes back to the beginning of eighth grader Usagi Tsukino’s transformation into the heroine, Sailor Moon. Along with her magical black cat, Luna, Usagi embarks on a mission to find her fellow Guardians, while uncovering the secrets behind the Legendary Silver Crystal. "Sailor Moon Crystal" will feature updated artwork, music and storylines.

Toei will also showcase its new series, "Petz Club," targeted to 5- to 8-year-olds, which was launched this summer on France 5.

The series follows Nina, Oscar, Tim and their dog, Marlou, who created the Petz Club to find pets lost by children. Each investigation of the Petz Club leads the little detectives to discover and understand the behavior of different pets. Toei Animation Europe handles the merchandising rights of the series in France.

“Sailor Moon has a legacy spanning nearly 30 years, while 'Petz Club' is an immediately identifiable series with ever-increasing acclaim,” says Ryuji Kochi, managing director, Toei Animation Europe. “We are excited to develop new relationships with the world’s top licensors while continuing ongoing associations.”
