Anime brand will add stickers, food and stationery to its lineup in the region.

Toei Animation has teamed up with three new licensees to develop new products inspired by “Dragon Ball Super” for the Italian market.

Starbright Licensing, Toei’s Italian licensing agent, brokered the deals.

New partners for the brand include: Giochi Preziosi, which will design back-to-school supplies and stationery; Preziosi Food for Easter eggs, pandoro cakes, small chocolate eggs and salted snacks; and Panini for a sticker album, which is planned for the back-to-school season this year.

Furthermore, Starbright is in the process of closing a raft of deals across publishing, footwear and apparel accessories, which will be revealed at a later date.

“‘Dragon Ball’s’ characters are classic superheroes with a massive following among kids as well as more and more adults who have grown with their favorite heroes,” says Giada Paterlini, co-founder, Starbright Licensing. “With its engaging plot, relatable superheroes and positive storytelling, we are not surprised by the strong interest of Italian companies after the broadcast on Italia 1. We are looking forward with great expectation to the upcoming premiere on Boing, which will be key asset in drawing the new generation of kids to the brand!”

The new “Dragon Ball Super” merchandise will start to roll out across Italy this year.
