Kotb and Guthrie made history as the first female team to anchor NBC’s “Today Show” since its inception.
"As we head into our 60th year, it is important that we continue to shine a light on female role models–or Sheroes as we call them–like Savannah and Hoda, to show girls they can be anything," says Lisa McKnight, general manager and senior vice president, Barbie. "Savannah and Hoda have modernized morning news and allowed more women and girls to see themselves and their stories reflected on television."
The dolls are part of Barbie’s Dream Gap Project, a global program that aims to elevate awareness about the factors that limit girls from reaching their goals. Barbie will highlight no less than 10 role models each year. Guthrie and Kotb will be gifted the dolls at the Glamour Women of the Year Summit, which is set to take place Nov.
