New U.S.-China co-production has secured funding to feature the classic video game.
The new movie will be Threshold Global Studios’ inaugural project and is a U.S.-China co-production that will film in China and feature a Chinese cast.
“‘Tetris,’ one of the most recognized video game franchises of all time, is a perfect first project for this strategy,” says Larry Kasanoff, chairman and chief executive officer, Threshold Entertainment. “For our debut project, Threshold Global Studios will bring one of the most beloved, cross-generational gaming brands in the world to the big screen as an epic, sci-fi thriller.”
The story for the new movie has already been created, and Kasanoff and Bruno Wu, chief executive officer of Sun Seven Stars Media Group, will co-produce film. The film will be executive produced by Threshold’s Jimmy lenner, Seven Stars and The Tetris Company.
