DHX Media has tapped Nickelodeon to serve as the U.S. broadcaster for the upcoming rebooted version of the preschool series "Teletubbies."

Nickelodeon will manage both broadcast and on-demand rights to the new 60 x 12 series, which will air on its Nick Jr. channel, following its debut on CBeebies in the U.K. this fall.

Nickelodeon has also picked up all 365 classic “Teletubbies” episodes for Noggin, its new mobile subscription service for preschoolers.

“There has been overwhelming international interest in the new ‘Teletubbies’ series, and appetite for the classic episodes remains exceptionally strong,” says Josh Scherba, senior vice president, distribution, DHX Media. “With Nickelodeon on board for the U.S., as well as CBeebies in the U.K. and further deal announcements pending, we are building incredibly strong foundations for the next-generation 'Teletubbies.'”
