Based on the novel

Psycho

by Robert Bloch and Alfred Hitchcock's film of the same name, “Bates Motel” is produced by Universal Television. The series made its debut March 18 on A&E.

JTMG has built a full program for the series that covers all major consumer product categories including gaming, interactive, apparel, publishing, paper products, novelty items and bath.

“‘Bates Motel’ attracted impressive adult audiences in its opening night, as well as accolades from media,” says Joy Tashjian, principal, JTMG. “The unique style of the series, its story’s subject matter and infamous main characters are certain to captivate consumers everywhere. We are excited that Bates Motel is now open for licensing business.”

The series takes place prior to the events portrayed in the classic Hitchcock film, and follows Norman Bates and his mother Norma, who purchases a motel located in the coastal town

of White Pine Bay after her husband dies.
