Warner Bros. Consumer Products, in partnership with DC Entertainment, has expanded the licensing and merchandise program for its new franchise “DC Super Hero Girls” ahead of its launch in the U.K.

“With our best-in-class licensees and partners, we’re excited to bring this girl-empowered program to fans around the world and allow them to imagine, aspire and be strong, brave and powerful,” says Pam Lifford, president, WBCP.

Licensees on board in the U.K. include Smith and Brooks, Global Licensing and Blues Clothing for daywear, as well as Aykroyd & Sons and Cooneen for nightwear. And in the gift and stationery category, Pyramid will launch a range of posters, badges, mugs, key chains and notebooks.

Meanwhile, retailers including Smyths, Toys ‘R’ Us, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Argos and Amazon are signed on for the program’s merchandise ranges.

The program is further supported globally by partners such as Mattel as master toy partner, Random House Children’s Books as master publishing partner, The LEGO Group as the exclusive construction partner and Rubie’s Costume Co., among many others.

“DC Super Hero Girls” products are currently rolling out to retailers now.
