SYBO, the Danish company behind the mobile game “Subway Surfers,” has tapped Sander Schwartz to develop and produce a new animated series based on the game.

Under the terms of the agreement, the producer and former president of Warner Bros. Animation, Sony Pictures Family Entertainment Group and FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment, will bring the mobile game to an animated series for television, film and other platforms.

SYBO has also brought on Brent Friedman (“Star Wars Rebels” and “Clone Wars”) to script a series of shorts and a long-form for the series.

According to Schwartz, the company is aiming to have a full-fledged long-form series ready by the end of the year.
