NORTH AMERICA–Pocket.watch, a media brand that creates, acquires, distributes and curates content for kids across a variety of platforms, has appointed Stone Newman to serve as the company’s chief revenue officer.

In his new role, Newman will oversee all of Pocket.watch’s revenue generating activities. He will also launch those efforts initially against licensing and merchandising, sponsorships and brand integrations, and the global sales of premium content.

Newman will also focus on sponsorship and brand integration sales of Pocket.watch’s owned and operated YouTube channels and their YouTube creator partnerships.

Prior to joining Pocket.watch, Newman served as president of global consumer products and licensing as well as worldwide content sales and marketing for Genius Brands International. During his tenure, Newman oversaw the company’s global content distribution business and spearheaded all global licensing, merchandising, retail and marketing efforts. He also helped the company secure its first content sales to Nickelodeon and Netflix, secured a worldwide master toy deal with Fisher-Price and assisted in the launch of the digital tween brand “SpacePOP.”

Newman also founded Sababa Toys, which has product presence in more than 50,000 retail stores.

“Stone is what I would call a mythical chief revenue officer, an executive who can do it all from merchandising, to content sales, to cultivating sponsorship opportunities,” says Chris Williams, founder and chief executive officer, Pocket.watch. “He combines the right mix of big company experience, with a roll-up-your-sleeves startup attitude, to help us achieve our goals during this explosive stage in our business.
