Stan Lee is stepping out of the shadows and onto The Hub Network in the first part of the Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 TV movie trilogy, marking Lee’s first-ever leading role.

Based on the TV series of the same name and produced by Stan Lee Comics, a joint venture between Genius Brands International, Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment and Archie Comics, Lee stars as an animated version of himself who teaches a crew of alien prisoners how to use their powers to be superheroes.

Additionally, Genius Brands International is developing a global consumer products program for the franchise.

The 90-minute animated movie will premiere on The Hub Feb. 1. Among the other members of the cast are Jim Belushi, Armie Hammer, Teri Hatcher and Christian Slater.
