Sony Music Entertainment has tapped BandMerch to take its North American merchandising program to the next level.

Under the new partnership, SME and BandMerch plan to expand Sony Music’s existing merchandising outlet The Thread Shop. The names, likenesses, images, graphics and logos of Sony Music's top artists will now appear on a broad range of products including t-shirts, fashion tops, hoodies, hats, jewelry and accessories.

"Over the last two years, The Thread Shop has grown organically, earning the trust of artists and managers interested in extending their brands while providing music fans unique access to the iconography and memorabilia of the greatest artists in music,” says Mathew Vlasic, vice president, The Thread Shop, SME. “Our new strategic alliance with BandMerch will bring the business to the next level, allowing us to continue to create top-quality merchandise on behalf of our artists while broadening our reach and connecting to new fans around the world."

Product will be developed by BandMerch with the possibility of expansion into live event merchandising at a later date.
