Twin Cities Public Television has received a $2.7 million grant from the National Science Foundation to create a third season of the PBS show, “SciGirls.”

The series is designed to engaged girls ages 9 to 13 in science, technology, engineering and math.

“SciGirls’” third season will focus on the newest frontier in science education–citizen science, where non-scientists are engaged to do real research. Working with experts in citizen science from Cornell University, season three of “SciGirls” will follow groups of real middle school girls as they work with female scientists on citizen science projects nationwide.
