The new Rio Rainforest Adventure 4D attraction, inspired by Blue Sky Studios’ and Fox Animation’s 2011 film Rio, has opened its doors at the San Diego Zoo in California.

Created in partnership with SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products and the San Diego Zoo, the immersive attraction features a new 4D theater surrounded by a rainforest experience that celebrates Rio de Janeiro with live macaws, a waterfall and samba music.

The attraction is located in the Children’s Zoo where guests can take part in a 12-minute theater presentation that takes guests on a journey through Rio de Janeiro with characters from the film.

"Rio Rainforest Adventure is a great example of Twentieth Century Fox's long-term strategy of extending and enriching our relationship with fans of our movies in meaningful ways,” says Greg Lombardo, vice president, global location-based entertainment development, FCP. “This attraction, set at one of America's top family destinations, demonstrates how entertainment can energize parents and kids through the wonder of the world around them."
