Rocket Licensing has signed a number of U.K. licensing partners for Sony’s upcoming movie Smurfs: Lost Village, which will launch in U.K. theaters March 31, 2017.

New licensees supporting the film include Aykroyd & TDP for kids’ nightwear; Fashion U.K. for kids’ daywear and swimwear; Inphase for car accessories; and PMS International for gifts, stationery and pocket money toys.

The agency also represents IMPS’ classic Smurfs brand in the U.K. and has tapped Casa Chicos for babywear, which will launch in summer/spring 2017 at Mothercare; Trademark for adult t-shirts; and Somerbond for adult nightwear and underwear.

The new merchandise will also support the Smurfs’ master toy partner, Jakks Pacific, who will launch a range of play sets and figurines for the film.

Additionally, Ferrero and McDonalds have signed on for global promotional deals based on the film.

The Smurfs is a cherished family evergreen brand and with the franchise’s next movie installment on the horizon, a new generation of fans are about to be introduced to the adventures of the loveable blue characters,” says Rob Wijeratna, joint managing director, Rocket. “For the U.K. licensing program, we’re committed to signing partners who will bring the movie’s heart-warming story, friendship and humor to life beyond the big screen and we’re looking forward to seeing products hitting shelves across the country next year.”
