The licensing agency will kick off new merchandising programs for Pacific Rim Uprising and “Lost in Space” in the U.K.
EUROPE–Legendary Entertainment has tapped Rocket Licensing to manage the U.K. licensing program for a number of its major brands, beginning with Pacific Rim Uprising and “Lost in Space.”
For Pacific Rim Uprising, Rocket will focus on the new themes and concepts from the film to secure a range of technology partnerships and gaming initiatives. The film will also be extended into merchandising categories spanning toys, posters and apparel.
Pacific Rim Uprising is the follow-up to the 2013 film Pacific Rim and will be released in March 2018.
Meanwhile, for “Lost in Space,” Rocket will work to build a strong licensing program that highlights the series’ themes of technology and adventure.
“Lost in Space” is a reimagining of the original family space adventure that first aired in the 1960s. The series follows the Robinsons, who find themselves torn off course en route to what they had hoped would be a fresh start on a distant space colony. Facing terrible odds, the family bands together to survive on a dangerous, alien planet. The Netflix original title is slated to launch in June 2018.
“Legendary Entertainment has already made a major impact in the entertainment industry with a strong portfolio of exciting, inventive and memorable creations for TV, film, digital media and comics,” says Charlie Donaldson, joint managing director, Rocket Licensing. “The licensing potential of proven hits like Pacific Rim and future favorites like ‘Lost in Space’ is exceptionally strong. We’re looking forward enormously to working with this dynamic and innovative company and its thrilling brands.”
