Rocket Licensing, licensing agent for the new series “Q Pootle 5,” has added two new partners for the extra-terrestrial CBeebies star.

Walker Books has signed a multi-year global publishing deal that will see a range of Q Pootle 5 TV tie-in books from the Walker Entertainment imprint including paperback and hardback picture books, board books, sticker books, coloring and activity books and gift novelty books. Walker is also planning e-books and audio books. Initial product will arrive on shelf this fall.

Q Pootle 5 also joins Blue Sky Design’s portfolio of licensed stationery with a full line planned for fall/winter 2014. The range will include pens, pencils, crayons, pencil cases, art sets, stickers, stampers and travel packs. Blue Sky is also planning a set of composite activity sets that will offer a combination of items from the line.

“Q Pootle 5 has been a strong favorite in the preschool market for many years, but its enormous popularity on CBeebies has brought it to an even bigger audience,” says Rob Wijeratna, joint managing director, Rocket Licensing. “The delightful ranges of books and stationery planned by Walker and Blue Sky will be warmly welcomed by the hundreds of thousands of new Q Pootle 5 fans eager for more of their favorite TV characters.”

Walker and Blue Sky join a growing roster of Q Pootle 5 licensees that also includes

Immediate Media for slots in the CBeebies Weekly and Toybox magazines, Egmont for standalone magazines, Jumbo for games and puzzles, VMC for accessories and Rainbow Productions for character costumes.

Other categories to be announced shortly include toys and games, DVDs, apps, apparel, accessories, lunchwares, bags, creative play and science kits.
