Rainbow is rapidly expanding the reach of its girls’ series “Winx Club” with plans for a sixth season, a movie and expanded licensing efforts.

The new season of the TV series is being co-produced with Nickelodeon and will debut worldwide in 2014. Rainbow is already planning additional seasons of the series as well as another movie, which will also be released in 2014.

With new content on the way, the company is also planning to expand the reach of its brand beyond Europe and America within the next two years.

New licensing initiatives will include a country-by-country marketing plan focusing on retail activities and consumer events and supported by a network of local agents, a digital strategy that includes Winx Club Android and iOS apps as well as a multi-player game and a strengthening of the brand’s fashion presence.

Next year, Rainbow will also celebrate the brand’s 10th anniversary with new style guides, limited edition products and retail consumer events alongside the premiere of the sixth season.

“The continuing success of Winx Club after nearly a decade confirms its status as both an evergreen property and one that is able to evolve to meet changing consumer tastes without losing the core values that have made it such a hit. This year and 2014 will bring strong growth and further extend the reach of this amazing property,” says Maurizio Distefano, executive vice president and general manager, global consumer products, Rainbow.
