The new escape rooms will help promote the 20th Pokémon film Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You.

The Pokémon Company has teamed up with a Japanese escape room company to launch Pokémon-themed escape rooms across eight cities in Japan.

The upcoming escape rooms will feature the “trials of Ho-Oh” and will likely test a person’s Pokémon knowledge in order to escape. The escape room’s website also suggests that nearby stores will be transformed into Professor Oak’s lab, allowing players to pick their first Pokémon.

The new escape rooms are also part of a marketing campaign to promote Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You, which follows Ash and Pikachu’s quest to finally meet the legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh, which made an appearance during Ash and Pikachu’s first adventure together.

The launch date of the Pokemon escape rooms have not been revealed; however, the launch will likely coincide with the debut of the new movie this July.
