The Pokémon Company International has partnered with ASDA to bring customers special events at six of its major U.K. stores across February and March. The collaboration celebrates Pokémon Day on Feb. 27 and heralds the launch of a new Pokémon toy range and a new trading card game (TCG) release.
The immersive activity includes character visits from Pikachu along with a huge coloring wall bursting with Pokémon for shoppers to color in. There are also activity sheets and Pikachu sun visors for customers to take home. A selection of products from across the popular Pokémon toy line and the TCG will be on display for shoppers to browse and purchase.
The ASDA stores began staging Pokémon events on Feb. 25, with additional events planned at these stores:
March 3: West Bridgford
March 4: Derby
March 10: Pudsey
March 11: Trafford Park
Master toy partner, Jazwares’ range includes battle figures, 8-inch plush and the Clip and Go. The latest TCG release in January saw the Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield Series reach its peak with the Crown Zenith expansion, featuring an all-star assembly of Pokémon and Trainers to celebrate the era of Pokémon V. Over 160 cards include three new Radiant Pokémon, five Pokémon VMAX, 8 Pokémon VSTAR, 17 Pokémon V and 70 cards with special artwork in the Galarian Gallery (available in store while supplies last). The Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet expansion, which adopts an updated take on the Pokémon ex gameplay mechanic, launches worldwide on March 31.
