Morgen Studios has appointed Planeta Junior and Nottingham Forest to represent its animated series "Super 4" and the brand that inspired it, Playmobil, in Spain, Portugal and Italy.

Planeta will represent the brands for licensing, merchandising and promotions in Italy, while Nottingham Forest will take them on in Spain and Portugal.

“Super4” (52x12), produced by Method Animation and Morgen Studios, is an action-adventures series inspired by the toy brand and targeted to kids ages 5 to 9. The series currently airs in Italy through Cartoonito and Boomerang, in Spain on Neox Kidz, TV3 and Canal Panda, and in Portugal on Canal Panda.

As the master toy licensee for the series, Playmobile is planning a line of "Super 4" figures and play sets that will hit retail this September, while Planeta and Nottingham build the brand in other categories.

In a separate initiative, the Playmobil brand is looking beyond the traditional toy category with a global trans-media strategy that will also see Planeta and Nottingham develop a new line of lifestyle products.
