Entertainment One Licensing has signed new toy and publishing partners for Peppa Pig in France.

The series debuted on France 5’s Zouzous preschool programming block last month and will premiere on Nick Jr. March 31.

Toys and publishing are set to launch at retail in the third and fourth quarters following new agreements with Giochi Preziosi France and Hachette Group.

Giochi Preziosi, which distributes a Peppa Pig toy line in Italy, will extend its partnership with eOne by becoming the brand’s toy partner in France. The toy firm will distribute Character Options’ core range of play sets, plush and figures beginning this fall.

Also on board is Hachette Group, which has snagged master publishing rights for the brand in France. The publisher is developing a range of preschool storybooks, novelty and activity books due to hit shelves this summer.

France TV Distribution has been appointed to handle Peppa Pig licensing in France.

“Securing the commitment of a major free-to-air broadcaster and market-leader licensees in key categories demonstrates the huge potential of Peppa in France as we look to replicate the incredible success that the property is currently enjoying in many parts of Europe,” says Olivier Dumont, managing director, Entertainment One Family.
