Brand sees licensing success in new region following strong viewing numbers.

Entertainment One's preschool property "Peppa Pig" has taken root in Mexico following its debut on the country's Channel 5 in November 2013.

The brand's regional consumer products program, managed by Televisa Consumer Products, now boasts 50 licensees across 16 categories. More than half a million toys sold were within the first four months of launch, says eOne, and the Bandai toy range has seen consistent sell-through at retail, growing from 12 SKUs at launch in September 2014 to the 36 SKUs that will be available in spring 2016.

Additionally, more than 100,000 Peppa Pig books have been sold by Random House; while Panini has sold over 900,000 sticker packs, Famosa has sold 150,000 plush and Photopack has sold 90,000 backpacks.

The "Peppa Pig" live stage show produced by Fiery Light and Tycoon has been seen by more than 100,000 people across 30 cities in Mexico and a new stage show is planned to tour in 2016.

Finally, in October 2015, "Peppa Pig" won the Best Preschool Brand of 2015 Award in the Promarca Awards, hosted by the regional trade organization.

“A groundswell of popularity for 'Peppa Pig' has clearly been building since episodes debuted in Mexico just over a year ago," says Ami Dieckman, head of international licensing, eOne. "We are very excited that the brand has taken off so quickly, and our priority now will be to build on this initial success with strategic partnerships to ensure future growth.”
