General Media Communications, publisher of Penthouse magazine, has teamed up with Opus Entertainment to open the first adult nightclub under its Caligula brand.

Based on the 1980 movie of the same name, which was produced by Penthouse founder Bob Guccione, the Caligula clubs will be inspired by the infamous Caesar of Rome, Caligula, known for his wild parties.

The first Caligula-themed clubs will be in Stone Park, a suburb of Chicago, and is slated to open by the end of this year.

"Caligula Clubs are a perfect extension of our flagship Penthouse brand of adult themed clubs,” says Jeff Stoller, director of global club licensing, Penthouse and Caligula. “This Caligula Club will offer customers an exciting and unrivaled experience that we know is great for Chicago, and hopefully more locations to come.”

The first themed club in Penthouse’s line of branded locations, Caligula clubs will target a more mid-range audience than the upscale Penthouse-branded clubs.

"I’ve opened dozens of successful restaurants and bars in the Chicago area, but this is the most exciting,” says Perry Orr, president, Opus Entertainment. “Being associated with Penthouse and being the very first Caligula Club is a great experience, and our whole team is proud to be part of it."
