Peanuts Worldwide has tapped FranceTV Distribution as the global distribution partner for a new animated series based on the Peanuts comic strip.

Based on the 18,000 daily comic strips, the new animated series is being produced by N O R M AA L Animation and France Televisions and will include 500 90-second shorts as well as 104 7-minute episodes.

This is the first time the Peanuts comic strips have ever been animated in short form. The series will be available globally this fall and are already confirmed to air in France on France 3.

Additionally, a new animated feature film for the brand from Twentieth Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios is set for global release in fall 2015.

“Partnering with a global distribution partner like FranceTV Distribution is a great next step for us as we continue to build new content for Peanuts around the world,” says Neil Cole, chief executive officer, Iconix Brand Group, owner of Peanuts Worldwide. “Getting in front of younger generations is a key strategic initiative for Peanuts, and there’s no better way to do this than creating and distributing easily consumable content like these beautifully crafted animations from N O R M AA L.”
