PBS Kids has ordered 26 additional episodes of Scholastic Media’s Emmy award-winning children’s series “WordGirl,” which will bring the total number of episodes to 130 and carry the show through its seventh and eighth seasons into 2015.

Created by Scholastic’s animation studio Soup2Nuts, the series has an established licensing program that, among other extensions, includes a range of mobile apps for iPad and Android tablets, including last month’s release, “WordGirl Superhero Training App.”
