Video game character Master Chief is being brought to life in a new Paramount+ series adapted from the XBOX franchise “Halo.”

First launched in 2001 with several editions in the franchise to date, the “Halo” video games revolve around a super-soldier named Spartan 117 (a.k.a. Master Chief) as he fights the alien forces of the Covenant.

Due to launch in the U.S. and all available markets with access to Paramount+, the new trailer depicts leading characters Pablo Schreiber as the Master Chief, Spartan-117; Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey, the creator of the Spartan super-soldiers; and Jen Taylor as Cortana, the most advanced AI in human history, in the first ever live-action adaptation.

Additional actors include Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy and Danny Sapani.

The “Halo” live-action series is produced by Showtime in partnership with 343 Industries and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television with ViacomCBS distributing internationally.
